Warming centers open as Chicagoans battle brutal cold

CHICAGO --The bitter cold can pose a serious threat to the health and safety of older people.

Oak Street Health Community Centers will serve as warming centers for seniors to ensure they are safe and warm.

The warming centers will be open Wednesday, February 18 and Thursday, February 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

They will be offering free coffee, hot chocolate, tea and entertainment.
