CANADIAN COUNTY, Okla. — A man was arrested in Oklahoma after authorities say they found marijuana hidden under his child’s car seat.
A senior agent in the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics said he discovered the marijuana after pulling over Andrew Charles Wyatt Jr. for speeding around 11 a.m. Tuesday.
“It’s pretty gut-wrenching whenever you see children involved in such heinous crimes,” the agent told KOCO.
The agent said he smelled marijuana when he pulled Wyatt over. He searched the vehicle and found approximately half a pound of marijuana hidden inside the car seat of Wyatt’s 5-month-old child.
Police said Wyatt initially claimed he did not know the marijuana was in the car seat but eventually tried to pin it on the child’s mother.
The child’s mother claimed she did not know anything about the marijuana either.
Wyatt was arrested and the child’s mother retained custody.
