Two armed robberies near Mayor Emanuel’s home

CHICAGO — Chicago police are investigating two armed robberies near Mayor Emanuel’s home over the last 24 hours.

A man was robbed at gunpoint by three teens about 7:45 p.m. Monday.

It happened in the 4500 block of North Hermitage Avenue, just three blocks from the mayor’s home in the 4200 block of the same street.

The second robbery happened just after 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.

A man with a box cutter made off with cash from a business in the 4000 block of North Lincoln Avenue.

No one was injured in either robbery and no arrests have been made.
