Debra Silverstein

Debra Silverstein has been the Alderman of Chicago’s 50th Ward since 2011. A graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago, Silverstein built a small business which helped individuals navigate their tax obligations. Some of the highlights from her tenure as alderman include the Devon Avenue Streetscape project and public safety initiatives.

Shajan M. Kuriakose

Shajan M. Kuriakose’s parents immigrated to the United States in the 1970s. He was born and raised on Chicago’s Northwest Side and received a bachelor’s in business administration from Robert Morris University. A business consultant by trade, Kuriakose says one of the main reasons he wants to alderman is to entice businesses to come to the ward.

Zehra Quadri

Zehra Quadri came to the United States from India in 1987. In 2000, she created ZAM’s Hope Community Resource Center to provide programs such as after school activities for children, senior citizen services, job referrals, employment skills development and educational workshops. As alderman, one of her goals is to build a more sustainable community.
