SAN DIEGO -- A couple from Philadelphia have come forward as the two people featured in a viral photo captured by a California photographer.

According to FOX5 in San Diego,  Robert Treml of Philadelphia received a phone call from his brother in St. Louis, who had seen the online campaign aimed to find the couple.

"He’s like, 'I just saw a link online and there is a photographer in San Diego who actually captured your proposal at the exact moment and it’s under a rainbow, and he’s looking for you,'" Treml told FOX5. Treml said it was him and his fiancee, Meghan Peart, seen in the photo.

Photographer Dan McGeorge had started an online effort to find the couple after he took a photo of their proposal under a rainbow over Hotel Del Coronado in California.

"Big thanks to all of you caring people who shared and helped in the search! It was so wonderful to find them!" McGeorge wrote on Facebook after the couple were identified.

The photographer said he spoke with the couple after taking the photo — not knowing at the time they were the same two people from his soon-to-be viral picture. He wrote on Facebook that they came up to him and asked if he would take a picture of them with their phone, as they’d just gotten engaged.

“I did, then wished them well and they went on their way,” he wrote. He said he later realized they were the same couple from his original photograph.

McGeorge later wrote on Facebook he wanted to find them so that he could give them a canvas print of the photo.

The search ended just in time for Valentine's Day.
