1 year later, searching for answers in SIU student’s death

DES PLAINES, Ill. -- Relatives and friends gathered at a Des Plaines church Sunday to mark the one year anniversary of the death of Pravin Varughese.

The family has spent the past year pulling together their resources and rallying support from politicians to get justice for Pravin.

Last February, the 19-year old Southern Illinois University student went missing. His body was found days later In a wooded area.

Authorities in Carbondale concluded there was no foul play, but the family does not believe that. They say an independent autopsy showed bruises on his body. They have also filed lawsuits in their quest for answers and charges.
The investigation is ongoing.
