Measles ruled out in Lake County case

LAKE COUNTY, Ill. --The Lake County Health Department reports the test administered earlier today on a patient has come back negative for measles.

No other information about the case was released,  including the age of the patient.

This news comes one day after an outbreak of measles was reported at a day care center in northwest suburban Palatine. Five confirmed cases of measles were reported at KinderCare.

In response, other school districts have been taking proactive measures advising parents of the situation and the symptoms associated with measles.

    Measles? The media has no morals or ethics. Just scare the hell out of people to sell print. If it were strep or chicken pox …nothing. But the fear of a simple treatable disease that sells…remember SARS, West Nile, H1N1, Monkey Virus, MRSA, Ebola? This will be page 60 in no time. Just don’t let the media make you crazier than you are. To harrass parents outside of a day care is disgusting and shows the media for what they are…whores.
