CHICAGO --The two dogs loose on the Bishop Ford expressway are safely back with their owner.

After 6 a.m. Thursday, there were reports of two unleashed Akita dogs on the Bishop Ford expressway at 115th.

IDOT and State Police were at the scene and blocking traffic to make sure the dogs wouldn't get hit.

Owner, Angela Myrick, was searching all night for 4-year-old Shiloh and her baby, Charlie, who is 8-months-old.

She says the pair have been missing since Wednesday night, after somehow getting out of a service door in their home.

Myrick says she was concerned because the dogs were out in bitter cold temperatures, and they are not outdoor dogs.

A neighbor heard the story on the WGN Morning News and contacted Myrick's daughter, Morgan, to pick up the dogs.

"We did drive between West Pullman, Roseland and all the way up to the Morgan Park area," said Morgan.  "We didn't find them, and I was crying my eyes out."

Amazingly, the dogs were not hurt but Angela says they're in desperate need of a bath.
