CTA trains and buses operated on a normal weekday service Monday, though officials said riders should anticipate longer wait times as Chicago continues to dig out of its recent blizzard.

Meanwhile, Metra had troubles staying on time. Metra said it experienced delays on most of its lines -- between 15-30 minutes -- due more to the heavy, wet snow than to the cold.

The blowing and drifting snow led to signal and mechanical issues for the transit service.
