CHICAGO —People across the region are digging out today with more than a foot of snow on the ground in many locations and some areas picking up around a foot-and-half of snow.

Light lake effect snow will gradually move east into Northwest Indiana as we go through the day.

Temperatures will struggle to warm up today with highs in the upper teens, but wind chills near zero. Light snow showers are possible tonight with more snow expected Tuesday.

Snowfall totals across the Chicago area will for the most part fall in a 12 to 18-inch range.
