The body of a missing U of I student has been found and authorities say his death is being treated as a homicide.

The Champaign County Sheriff said the body of 20-year-old Vicente Mundo was found on Saturday by a woman walking her dog.

Vicente has been missing over a week. He was last seen leaving an apartment on the University of Illinois campus and went to his car.

Police say it was not a random killing and y they are not worried about the community's safety.  Yet Vicente’s family doesn't know how their brother died or who is responsible. The $10,000 reward has not been claimed yet as the table as detectives hunt down his killer.

Tonight hundreds gathered at South Side church in Chicago to remember a life cut short too soon.  They say the college student had a lot of friends and a heart of gold.

Authorities ask anyone with information as to his activities on the weekend beginning Friday, January 23, or any other useful information is asked to contact the Champaign County Sheriff’s investigations at 217-384-1213.
