Weather conditions continue to deteriorate across the Chicago area –
northeast winds in excess of 40 miles per hour combining with moderate
to heavy snow has lowered visibility to near zero/whiteout conditions.
Temperatures are falling through the 20s into the teens and wind chills
are dropping out of the teens into the single digits, approaching
zero-degrees.

Chicago Public Schools released a statement saying schools will be closed tomorrow.

The statement reads in part: “Chicago Public Schools is cancelling classes on Monday, February 2, due to a slow-moving blizzard and lake effect snow that continues to impact Chicago and presents a danger to children traveling to and from schools.”
