MILWAUKEE -- Four middle school students outside Milwaukee face criminal charges for allegedly recording themselves at a so-called "sex party."
"It's heartbreaking, like wow. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around it," mother Kwana Imani told WTMJ.
Police say it happened at a house over the holiday break. A student at Brown Deer Middle School told a staff member about the party and videos, and then police were called.
Police are recommending the children be charged with first and second degree sexual assault of a child.
"The message is that these kids are under the age of 15 and they can't consent to sexual activity. That's why we looked at it as a crime," Brown Deer Police Chief Michael Kass told WTMJ.
"I mean they're all minors, how can you charge them with sexual assault? I mean they're kids," Imani said.
None of the videos appear to have been posted on social media, and no adults are believed to have been involved.
