EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern University is receiving the largest donation ever in its history -- and it's coming from a member of the renowned Buffett family.

Roberta Buffett Elliott, sister of business magnate and billionaire philanthropist Warren Buffett, is giving the school $101 million.

She is a graduate of Northwestern, and announced the gift along with her husband David Wednesday.

The money will create the Buffett Institute for Global Studies, where faculty, research and programs will focus on global issues.
