Chicago police issue community alert after women attacked in South Loop

CHICAGO -- Chicago police are issuing a community alert about a string of robberies that have taken place in the South Loop in the month of January.

They say an unidentified male has been approaching women from behind a street or sidewalk, pushing them, punching them in the face, knocking them to the ground sometimes, and then taking their purse or cell phone.

The times have varied but the locations are around the same area in the South Loop:

- 15th and Wabash on Jan. 13 at about 9:15 p.m

- 15th and Indiana on Jan. 16 at about 10:30 p.m.

- 19th and Indiana Jan. 23 at about 7:30 p.m.

- 16th and Prairie on Jan. 27 at about 8:15 p.m.
