Funeral today for Lake Shore Drive lagoon crash victim

CHICAGO -- A funeral will be held this morning for the victim in this week's Lincoln Park lagoon crash.

The service for Claudia Beruben, 37 is at 10 a.m. at St. Benedict Church in Blue Island.

Beruben was the passenger when the car crashed in the 2200 block of North Lake Shore Drive on Monday.

Police say the driver of that crash, Rafael Rodriguez, 42, was drunk when he lost control of his car, plowed through a guardrail, and crashed upside down on the ice in the lagoon near Diversey Harbor.

42 year-old Rafael Rodriguez, is charged with aggravated DUI and held on 1 million dollars bail.

A "GiveForward" memorial fund has been set up for the victims three-year-old daughter.
