CHICAGO -- WGN Morning News traffic producer Adam Franklin played a prank on traffic reporter Erin McElroy Thursday, causing her to have a "Ron Burgundy" moment.

Franklin told her that a traffic construction project wrapped in 2024, when in fact, that was a joke -- it really ends in 2016.

"She's 'Anchorwoman.' If you put a question mark, she'll be like 'I am Erin McElroy?" Franklin said, alluding to that classic moment from "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy."
