JOLIET, Ill. -- A bungled robbery at a Joliet convenience store left the store clerk and one of the robbers dead.

Police have now identified the gunman who was killed as 24-year old Troy Norris of Joliet.

The second robber is still being sought.

Witnesses say the two men wore masks when the one with the gun announced the holdup at the Gardner Food Mart Monday afternoon.

Clerk Mohammad Eid, 24, pulled out his own gun. They exchanged fire.

Eid was wounded and rushed to Presence St. Joseph Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Two witnesses in the store weren't hurt.

The clerk was the store owner's son.

Glad to hear he took one down with him. Sorry to hear the clerk didn’t make it. But at least one robber is dead as well. Never to repeat it again. The other big dummy is now going to trial alone, and will, or should, be tried for his buddies death as well as the clerk. Hopefully he gets two life – terms or better yet, Capital Punishment. My condolences to the store owner may God be with you.
