BURBANK, Calif. — Authorities say a fitness model featured on the cover of numerous magazines was killed after he was struck by a train in Southern California.

According to multiple reports, the victim was also a Bravo reality TV star.

Burbank Police Sgt. Scott Meadows says George Plitt Jr. and two other men were filming on the tracks north of Burbank on Saturday afternoon when Plitt was hit by a southbound Metrolink train.

The Los Angeles County coroner’s office says Plitt was 37.

Burbank police Sgt. Chris Canales says investigators have ruled out a suicide. He says witnesses reported that the train’s horn was blaring before Plitt was struck.

Canales says Plitt went by the name Greg and was a well-known fitness model.

Plitt’s website says he has appeared on more than 200 magazine covers and a variety of television shows.

USA Today notes Plitt is best known for appearing on Bravo’s reality show “Work Out.”

Bravo talk show host Andy Cohen tweeted Sunday, “We couldn’t take our eyes off Greg Plitt after we cast him on “Work Out”-was as nice as he was beautiful. Seemed invincible, like Superman[.]”

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
