CHICAGO - Two men were killed Saturday night after being struck by a car on Chicago's Northwest Side.
It happened at 10:10 p.m. in the 4300 block of West North Avenue in the Humboldt Park neighborhood.
Police say the driver of a 2002 white Buick hit two men who were crossing the street.

The driver then kept driving east on North Avenue for three more blocks until he slammed into three parked cars at the intersection of North Avenue and Kedvale.

Danny Cantu lives in an apartment at that intersection.  He says he heard the crash and ran down to check on his car, which was parked on North Avenue in front of his building.  Cantu says police officers arrived on the scene instantly and took one man into custody.

Cantu's car was one of the three that was hit.  He says the entire thing is very tragic.

One of the pedestrians died at the scene. The other was unresponsive at the scene and later died at the hospital.

The names of the victims have not been released.

The driver of the Buick is in police custody.  Charges are pending.
