Man killed in wrong-way crash on I-290 ID’d; charges pending

Charges are pending in a wrong-way crash on the Eisenhower in Forest Park that killed one man and injured five others.

Illinois State Police say the crash happened at 4:40am Sunday in the inbound lanes of the Eisenhower Expressway near Des Plaines Avenue in Forest Park.

The wrong-way driver was not hurt. Officials say he’s a 22-year-old man from Chicago.

29-year-old Juan Carlos Salazar was killed.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident.
