Man injured after jumping off roof of burning home in West Pullman

CHICAGO — A 54-year-old man was hospitalized after he jumped off the roof of a burning home, in Chicago’s West Pullman neighborhood.

The fire started 12:25 a.m., on the 11500 block of South Lafayette Avenue.

A fire broke out on the top floor of a two-story home.

The man who jumped off the roof was seen with a neck brace as paramedics loaded him into an ambulance.

He was taken in serious-to-critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

One other person inside the home was not hurt.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
