OKLAHOMA CITY — A 12-year-old boy wrote to all 32 teams in the NFL a couple of weeks ago to help settle an inner debate: which team should he root for, and why?

According to KSLA in Louisiana, sixth grader Cade Pope wrote the teams asking why he should root for their franchise.

One team seemed genuinely interested in Pope’s fandom. The boy reportedly received a package, and inside it was a replica Carolina Panthers helmet signed by their star linebacker, Luke Kuechly.

Also in the package was a handwritten note from Jerry Richardson, the team’s owner.

“Cade, we would be honored if our Carolina Panthers became your team,” the letter reportedly read.

The boy told KSLA the Panthers would be his choice if he doesn’t hear from any other team.

His parents need to point out he shouldn’t have to wait any longer, since of course now other teams will respond since this is now in the news. Pick the Panthers kid.

Yup…go with the Panthers….the other teams will now try to be copycats…go with the team that responded to you…that was pretty classy of them to get back to you…no decision there…go with them!!!

I think he should pick the Panthers. They responded first and honestly. Other teams might try to reply now that we all know they don’t have time for a little boy.

Plus they sent him the autographed helmet, how cool is that?
Being a Chicago Bears fan I didn’t want to hear anything else about football until next year, after having such a horrifying season, but these guys just got the bad taste out of my mouth and made football ok again for another year.

    Go Panthers!
