If you’re home with your kids Wednesday because their school is closed due to the bone-chilling weather, there are several fun activities to do outside of the house.

You can check out the Museum of Science and Industry, and the Shedd Aquarium, which are providing free admission.

The YMCA is also offering programs to members and non-members for a fee. It’s open to kids between five and 13 years-old. It includes arts and crafts, swimming, and gym time.

Parents are glad to have the choices.

“I was kind of on the fence about whether or not to take the day off, but I had some meetings I could cancel, so I decided to come up here,” said parent Linda Nguien.
