A man who sent out Facebook postings threatening to kill police and white children was in court Friday on weapons charges.

Aries Woodfin, 33, of south suburban Ford Heights is also accused of keeping a makeshift shooting range in his basement.

Prosecutors say Woodfin posted comments on a Facebook chat room warning to "kill as many cops and white kids as possible" as a New Year's resolution.

Authorities searched Woodfin's home last week and found a .45 caliber handgun with loaded magazines, several live rounds, and more than 200 spent shell casings and rounds.

Police say Woodfin admitted to making threats via the internet.

Woodfin has been denied bond.
