A funeral was held for a teenager who was killed at a house party in Calumet City, days before he was set to join the U.S. Army.
19-year-old DeWayne Purnell was shot to death last weekend, as he said goodbye to his friends. He was supposed to report to boot camp in South Carolina this Tuesday.
Members of the military attended his funeral in Dolton Saturday.
Purnell was one of eight people who were shot
No arrests have been made in the case.

Police say they received a call of shots fired at the residence at 619 Escanaba at around 1:50 a.m.
Authorities say when they arrived they saw a large number of young people running from the house.
Victims were transported to area hospitals by ambulance and by self transport.
Witnesses say the house was hosting a large party where most people aged 15 -21 were smoking marijuana, drinking alcohol.
As many as 150 people packed the home for a party they paid to get into, and that was advertised on social media.
Stripper poles were also seen in the home.
A witness told WGN-TV the fight was gang related.
No one is in custody at this time. The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force and Calumet City Detectives are investigating.
