UPS fails to deliver packages by Christmas

There’s a holiday scam involving packages delivered by United Parcel Service.

Some residents in northwest Indiana say their accounts were charged for online items they didn’t order.

Then, their stolen identities were used to pick up the packages from the distribution center in Westville.

Laporte County Police say they’re aware of at least three incidents. One of the victims learned she was a target when a relative working for UPS last Tuesday told her she had a package.

She investigated and found out the the day before, her credit card was charged $1,000 for two laptops.
