Local crowds flock to see controversial film ‘The Interview’

Despite threats of violence and an embarrassing cyber-attack against Sony pictures, the comedy “The Interview" had a small release at theaters across the nation. The studio first said it wasn’t going to release the film but changed its mind after pressure from Hollywood and President Obama.

Hollywood Boulevard theaters in Woodridge is one of the Chicago area theaters showing the film.

Extra security precautions were taken according to the theaters management.

The film is showing in three in the Chicago area, the other two are in Naperville and Buffalo Grove.

The Seth Rogan/James Franco comedy about assassinating North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, would have likely been a second or third choice on many Christmas Day movie lists. But after all the controversy surrounding it quickly became number one.

Movie goers spoke came for both the comedy and controversy as Woodridge police kept an eye on things.

    I went to the premiere showing of James Franco”s ” OZ the Great and Powerful “.

    Twenty minutes into the movie I’m thinking There’s no place like home. There’s no place like home , There’s no place like……. I not wasting the price of a ticket on a gamble like that ever again. You folks can inform me about the movie.
