1 person is dead and 12 people are wounded after shootings across Chicago Friday.

About 4:30 p.m yesterday afternoon, a man was fatally shot at 30th and Kedvale Avenue.

He suffered gun shot wounds to the chest. He later died at the hospital.

A  security guard working on the South Side was one of the dozen injured.

The 30-year-old was working at ABC Choice, a cell phone store in a strip mall at 95th and Halsted when he was shot in the leg during a robbery around 5 p.m.

No one is in custody and Area South detectives are investigating.

Crime stats heading into this final month of 2014 showed homicides are down in Chicago, but shootings were up compared to last year, according to Chicago Police.
