Charges upgraded in alleged animal cruelty case
Charges are upgraded in an alleged animal cruelty case.
54 year-old Dr. Amardeep Sangha, of Naperville, and 59 year-old Sharon Cargile, of Chicago, are now facing felony counts of aggravated cruelty. A warrant is out for her arrest. Both were originally charged with several misdemeanors.
Back in September, four dogs were found dead, and many others were discovered in poor condition at the animal hospital in Dolton. At least three of the deceased dogs were starved.
A Dolton Police officer who was dropping off a dog at the facility, which the village contracts with for the housing of stray animals, observed what appeared to be dead dogs and other animals that appeared to be in poor condition.
