As winds have shifted off Lake Michigan, a dense fog has moved inland along the Lake Michigan shoreline from southern Wisconsin south to Chicago.

“Expect this fog to persist through the afternoon with visibility falling to a quarter mile or less at times. Motorists should use extra caution and be prepared to encounter rapidly changing visibility,” the National Weather Service said.

Roads that will be most significantly impacted by dense fog include Lake Shore Drive, Sheridan Rd and Illinois Route 137 between Winthrop Harbor and North Chicago.

The Chicago Bears game at Soldier Field is expected to be a wet one as well, with showers and fog expected.
