Man shot and killed outside West Side library

A man who was shot outside a West Side Chicago Public Library has died.

The 23-year-old man was shot outside the The Richard M. Daley - West Humboldt Park branch at 733 N Kedzie Ave and was taken to the hospital around 2:30 this afternoon. The man died at the hospital.

The library will remain closed until further notice, a spokesman said.

It's unclear if the shooting took place inside or outside of the library. Investigators could be seen putting up crime scene tape around the library and its parking lot.

No one is in custody.

No one inside the library was hurt.
