At least 2 shot, including 13-year-old, on South Side

At least two people were shot in a residential building on the city’s South Side this afternoon.

Chicago police say male suspects approached the victims in a hallway of the building in the 5700 block of S Michigan Ave shortly before 5 p.m. The suspects opened fire.

Four ambulances were called to the scene. Police have only confirmed the injuries of two victims.

One victim, who is believed to be 13-years-old, was shot in the chest and taken to Comer Children’s Hospital. The other victim was shot in the left hand and was taken to the hospital.
