A couple of hundred people gathered in Chicago’s Loop as nationwide marches took place against what some believe to be “police genocide.”

Other cities such as Washington and New York also demonstrated Saturday, as thousands continue to protest the deaths of Michael Brown, Eric Garner, and other unarmed black teens at the hands of police.

Invoking the familiar names of black men who died at the hands of police, thousands marched throughout the nation on Saturday to protest what they see as rampant racial injustice.

The throngs -- young and old, black and white -- took to the streets in major cities, including New York. In Washington, a crowd of thousands snaked up Pennsylvania Avenue to the Capitol.

They appear to represent a burgeoning movement sparked by the decisions of grand juries in Missouri and New York not to indict white police officers in the deaths of two unarmed black men.

Similar demonstrations were held Saturday in Boston and San Francisco.

Looks like the only service they provide is being role models for white supremacy. I don’t want their protection and I want the hate to stop. The only step towards that is realizing you’re not above everyone else. You are all the reason this has escalated. You murdered all these people by doinng nothing and standing by your stupid cops. There are so many tests to become a cop, do you know why? They need small minds that don’t think for themselves and question nothing. Right and wrong have already been decided. Drones. I watched 5 cops beat up one kid while they kettled the crowd. Where were you? Sitting on your ass judging those strong enough to think for themselves. You all make me sick.

Ava, you are so far of base it makes me laugh. It’s sad that you label all cops with in such a way, how can you be so obtuse? I guess it explains a lot that you’re backing these protesters. In the same way you label ALL police as mindless drone idiots I will label YOU alone as a joke. Thanks for the laugh though!

What a bunch of ill-informed losers! The death of Michael Brown was entirely due to Michael Brown’s actions, as the grand jury in St. Louis obviously discovered. If Brown hadn’t attacked and tried to murder an armed police officer, he would still be alive today.

The black community should really be looking inward to figure out how to teach its people to stop “keepin’ it real” and behave like civilized human beings instead of directing rage at the police.

The above videos reporter mentions there were no arrests, however I watched about 15 – 20 people get arrested after they tried to storm Nordstroms. Not sure what else they did as I was up in my apartment away from the chaos. A bit later a few more were tackled by police in a rush, so I assume they did something really bad. I saw this because the police ignored the annoying clapping in their face and other inappropriate behaviors by the protesters. Either way, tons of tax money used to keep them in check and more false reporting. I agree for standing up what you believe in, but why not do it in an park where it would be safer for everyone
