A couple of friends captured footage that is part beauty, part optical illusion as they appear to be walking along the surface of the water.

In reality, the two were walking on ice so amazingly clear it looked as though it wasn’t ice at all, giving the impression they were defying mortal odds.

According to the description of the video, titled “Walking on beautiful clean ice in Slovakian Mountains,” the two were hiking along the High Tatras mountains in Slovakia.

As if the stunning ice weren’t enough, the two surely had much else to take in. According to travel guide Lonely Planet, the mountain range boasts “pristine snowfields, ultramarine mountain lakes, crashing waterfalls, undulating pine forests and shimmering alpine meadows.”

The video was uploaded to YouTube Monday and already has nearly 800,000 views.
