While Mayor Rahm Emanuel was kicking off his re-election bid on Saturday, his opponent Ald. Bob Fioretti (2nd) was in Woodlawn. Fioretti spoke at a press conference in front of a mental health clinic that was shuttered under the mayor’s watch.

The topic of discussion: “Chicago Forward.” The super PAC is raising millions of dollars to support Emanuel and his city council allies.

Fioretti was joined by Ald. Scott Waguespack (32nd) and several aldermanic candidates who are pledging to reject any financial support from “Chicago Forward.” They also want a federal investigation into the mayor's campaign funds.

To have someone run against a incumbent is one thing. When ten others decide to run a campaign there is something really wrong with City Hall . Don’t let big monies buy this election
