Grab those skateboards and rollerblades,  there's a new place to skate in town.

Grant Park is home to a new three-acre skate park.

The $2.7 dollar project opens today, a month earlier than expected.

It might be a good idea to wear helmets and gloves because the park is made mostly of concrete.

The plaza-style park kicks off it's opening day at 11 a.m. with DJs and a number of local skate shops and brands.
