Things to do in Chicago this weekend
Lacking weekend plans? WGN’s Urban Agenda has a few ideas for you.
1) Winter Wonderfest is now open at Navy Pier! It’s an indoor winter playground with 170,000 square feet of entertainment, including a skating rink, ferris wheel, mini golf and tubing. You can save a few dollars by purchasing tickets ahead of time online. Winter Wonderfest will remain open through Jan. 11.
2) The Chicago Gay Men’s Chorus presents “YuleTUBE: Holiday Favorites From TV and the Movies.” It’s a humorous variety show featuring popular holiday songs from the big and small screens. Opening night is Friday at 8 p.m. at the Harris Theater in Millennium Park. If you miss Friday’s performance, the CGMC has more shows and events throughout December.
3) The 2014 Santa Hustle 5K is happening Saturday at Soldier Field. Join thousands of Santas at the sixth annual race, which starts at 9 a.m. All participants receive a Santa hat, beard and sweatshirt to wear while running along the lakefront. When you’re done, hit up the huge, holiday-themed after party at Navy Pier. Sign up now because there is no day-of registration!
