Lake Shore Drive is back open this morning, after protesters shut part of it down Thursday night.

Shouting slogans like "black lives matter",  hundreds of people protested a grand jury's decision not to indict a police officer for the chokehold death of Eric Garner.

Chicago police arrested four people on misdemeanor charges.

The protests were mostly peaceful otherwise.

Police in New York said they were trying to arrest Garner for selling illegal cigarettes back in July.

But some protesters say they went too far, and are calling for reform.

Protesters have vowed to take to the streets again today.  They're calling for another protest this afternoon at about 1:30 p.m. at State and Jackson.

This morning students and parents from Near North Montessori School held a rally at Milwaukee and Division.  One parent said the group is concerned about the safety of their own children in light of the recent deaths of unarmed African Americans.

Pull the TV cameras away, don’t give them any coverage…surprised more weren’t arrested…blocking a major traffic artery…more of these clowns needed to be arrested…do any of them work for a living, or is disrupting traffic their full-time job???

The media is the stage and the protesters the clowns. Half protest to fit into a cause without any facts to support their stand (everyone has injustice in their lives) or protest just to cause havoc and be seen on TV. Saw a young scholar in the Garfield Park neighborhood was shot execution style as he walked home from school. the Police caught the shooter…a black gang banger that was jealous this kid was getting a scholarship and succeeding. The black kid he shot was 17. The policeman that risked his life to catch the shooter was white. it was on page 6.

Correct me if I’m wrong. BUT… even if they are right, which i dont think so, because if you resist you know the police are going to act. PERIOD. Why are they making innocent people suffer on LSD? What’s that agenda? They didn’t do it. Just like burning stores in Ferguson. Those stores were owned by black people. It’s just an excuse for assembling and violence. If the officer was wrong, so are they! So what’s the difference? Dontv th rsecpeo Pl Le have families and jobs ?
