Yet another delay today in the case of Emad Karakrah, as Cook County prosecutors once again asked for a continuance to allow time for discovery.

Precisely what prosecutors are waiting for is not yet clear.

Karakrah did not say a word in today's very brief appearance in Cook County Criminal Court.  The judge granted a continuance until January 7.

Karakrah is accused of leading police on a high-speed chase last August in a bizarre incident where he is said to have had an ISIS flag flying from his car window.  He is also accused of making a false car bomb threat after police arrested him.

But the more intriguing story reports that Karakrah was part of a nationwide narco-terror ring.  Judicial Watch reports that the FBI is investigating allegations that Karakrah was part of a foiled 2009 terror plot to truck-bomb the Chicago studios of Oprah Winfrey as well as the Willis Tower.

There are unconfirmed reports that Karakrah was at one time an FBI informant.

Cook County prosecutors are not providing any details about this case.  They say they are not authorized to give out information.  Calls to the FBI press office have not been returned.
