The University of Texas at Austin has lost about 100 brains.

The university had a collection stored away. Now, about half are missing.

The Austin State Hospital had transferred the brains to the university 28-years ago.

About 100 were stored in a lab, but the rest were moved to the basement.

The curators say they don’t know whether the brains were taken as a prank.

The university is investigating the disappearance.
