On the positive side, Patrick Sharp returned to the ice and ice closer to returning to game action. Quenneville said Sharp practiced well but is still considered day-to-day and will not play Wednesday.
"It was nice to see everybody in the locker room, I've been here the last two weeks talking to myself, to the trainer," Sharp joked. "It was nice to see some friendly faces. It's nice to be back out there catching and receiving passes, skating on the line. It is all about timing at this point. Conditioning is where it needs to be, but just taking it day by day."
Sharp has not played since Nov. 4 at Montreal with a lower body injury.
Brent Seabrook is sick and also missed practiced, but Quenneville said he expects him to play tomorrow.
