The Magnificent mile Nordstrom that was the site of a murder suicide on Friday night, reopened Sunday morning.

Nadia Ezaldein, a 22 year old employee of the store, passed away on Saturday afternoon following the shooting.

Investigators say her ex-boyfriend, Marcus Dee, 31, of Chicago, walked into Nordstrom's accessories department Friday night and shot Ezaldein in the back of the head and then turned the gun on himself. Ezaldein's sister says the University of Chicago student was a seasonal employee at Nordstrom and just started working there in October.  She took the job to help pay for her college.

Police and store reps emphasize the shooting was an isolated incident.

“These two people knew each other so this wasn’t really a random act that just occurred at a Nordstrom store. From reviewing the incident it was very quick.”

Relatives says Ezaldein started dating Dee in August of 2012.

She was prepared to file a restraining order against Dee but backed down after he threatened to kill himself.

We’ve learned Dee’s parents are Chicago Police officers.

The couple's relationship lasted for more than a year through allegations of abuse at the hands of Dee.

We stopped by Dee’s northwest Chicago neighborhood where no one wanted to talk.

“We have a number of measures in place. Our priority is our customers feel safe and secure and comfortable when they’re visiting our stores, ” said Nordstrom spokeswoman Tara Darrow.

Saturday, shopper Rosanne Manson said “it’s horribly tragic, but it’s not an isolated incident these days unfortunately. Just because it happened in Nordstrom, it’s just a fluke, it wouldn’t stop me from going back.”

“You can’t put metal detectors in a store. How do you protect yourself from that?”

Ezaldein's family had planned to surprise her with a birthday dinner after she left work Friday. Now they plan to bury her in Chicago on Monday.
