Surveillance video shows a Cleveland police officer shot 12-year-old Tamir Rice no more than two seconds after the officer and a partner pulled up in a car to investigate reports that someone was brandishing a gun at a park, police said Wednesday.

Rice, who police said actually had what turned out to be an air gun that looked like a real firearm, died Sunday, a day after he was shot at the Cleveland park.

Police on Wednesday released the video and two audio recordings -- a 911 call preceding the shooting and a tape of a dispatcher asking officers to go to the park.

One of the officers, yelling out the car window, told Rice three times to "show your hands" before Rice was shot, Deputy Chief Ed Tomba of the Cleveland Division of Police told reporters. The surveillance video contained no audio.

Police are investigating the shooting, and the two officers are on leave from their jobs.

The kid was playing in the park minding his own business and the COPS PULLED UP DIRTY HARRY STYLE AND KILLED HIM.

What has happened to this country? My God, My God.

“Minding his own business”? With what looked like a real gun? Seriously? What other outcome would you expect? If he had not removed the orange plastic on the toy gun to make it look real the cops would have seen it was a toy gun. So if you were in that situation you would simply wait to see if the gun were real by being shot? Actions have consequences. Acting like a criminal can get you killed. As a concealed carry permit holder if someone pulled a gun on me that looked real I would shoot them too versus waiting to see if I would be shot.

There are still air soft guns that look absolutely real. I have never bought plays guns for my kids. With all the toys in the world plays guns were not my first priority to get for my kids.

Cops had all the info, via the radio – person with a gun.. They pulled up, like that, to get a jump on him and execute him cleanly. Killers, murderers. Radio operator, not relaying relevant information – about concerns of it not being a real gun – also deserves (serious) jail time (due to the nature of their crime). Simple as that.
