Patrols to target illegal parking at shopping malls on Black Friday

Park in a handicapped space on Black Friday, and you’ll find a bright orange ticket on your windshield.

The Illinois Secretary of State plans to send special patrols to shopping malls to catch drivers who think they can outsmart the holiday crowds by using disabled parking spaces.

Enforcement will be especially aggressive in downtown Chicago, Oakbrook Center and Woodfield Mall.

More than 90 drivers were ticketed in last year’s Black Friday patrols.
