Man, 50, shot in the head by stray bullet on South Side

A 50-year-old man was shot in the head in his home by an apparent stray bullet.

It came through the window of an upper level bedroom just before 11p.m. Tuesday in the 2100 block of West Garfield Boulevard in the Back of the Yards neighborhood.

The man is in critical condition.

Police say casings were found in a wooded area across Garfield Boulevard.

No word on who was firing the shots or why.

No one is in custody.
