We're hearing the first 911 calls from this week's small plane crash at Midway.
It sounds like even the dispatchers couldn't believe what they were hearing.
Caller: "Hi, how’s it going? There’s an airplane that crashed in front of my house."
911 Operator: “A WHAT in your house?”
Caller: “An airplane crashed across the street in front of our house."
911 Operator: “An airplane crashed across the street in front of your house?”
911 Operator: “OK...Well, what’s the address?”
The plane went down into the house at 65th and Knox early Tuesday morning.
It missed the couple sleeping inside by just eight inches. The couple made it out OK, but the pilot, 47-year-old Eric Howlett, died.
He was headed to the Ohio State University but had engine problems shortly after take off.
