Crews have been going door to door turning on the furnaces in 82 homes on the Northwest side.

Residents in Edison Park lost their heat Wednesday night after a gas main was damaged by a small fire.

The gas main was hit by a construction crew at about 8:20 in the 6700 block of North Oconto.

Crews have been working through the night to get the heat back on in these homes.

Peoples Gas brought warming buses for residents.  Crews have been able to restore heat in at least half of the homes affected. They hope to get the heat turned back on in all the homes by this afternoon.
