A patient in India went to the doctor complaining of an incessant buzzing in his ear.

Dr. Vikram Yadav diagnosed the unidentified man with aural myasis which is an infestation of fly larvae.

A video posted on YouTube shows Dr. Yadav removing hundreds of maggots from the man’s ear.

Maggots feed off the flesh of the inner ear, that could eventually burrow into the brain and kill the patient.

Although aural myasis is typically a greater issue for animals, it’s also a relatively frequent affliction of humans in rural tropical regions.
