Surveillance video captures store clerk’s unexpected assault by homeless man

A shoe store clerk in California was injured after she was assaulted by a homeless man.

The man, identified by police as Justin Edmond Pard, walked into the store just after it opened.

Surveillance video shows the female clerk sitting behind the counter when Pard punches her in the face.

He then ran off, but was caught in a nearby Barnes and Noble.

According to WDAF, when police searched Pard, they discovered a 10-inch fixed-blade kitchen knife concealed in the front pocket of his sweatshirt.

Pard has been charged with assault carrying  a concealed weapon. His bond was set at $2,000.

The employee suffered a bloody nose and bruising to her face.
